"The purpose of Christian Education at Riverdale Presbyterian Church is to help our young people to know, love, and serve Jesus Christ.  This ministry will equip them with a strong Biblical foundation to apply Christian principles in their lives, encourage their involvement in our faith community, and empower them to serve others.  Our Christian Education ministry will also provide adult Bible study, fellowship, retreat opportunities, and services to the community, so that all people of our church continue to know, love, and serve in faith."

One of the ways we enact this vision is through Sunday School classes for all ages. We have experienced and spirit-filled teachers who use the following curricula as a basis for teaching:

K-12, (First Session): One Room Sunday School, Abingdon Press, 3-K (Second Session): Spark, Augsburg Fortress, 1-6th grade (Second Session): Godly Play, Living the Good News by Jerome Berryman

Adult classes-- Circle of the Spirit (Parlor): Epistle to the Hebrews by William Barclay, Seekers (Room 2): The Purpose-Driven Church by Rick Warren, Spirtual Group Therapy (Room 1): Proverbs, Serendipity House.

Christian Education Committee meets some Tuesday evenings and some Sundays after worship during the Sunday School year to plan and brainstorm ideas to meet this vision.
