Christian Education
Ministry for Children and Youth We have an active education ministry that includes Wednesday afternoon programs for children in grades 1 and up and Sunday programs for children, youth and adults. Our youth participate in the Youth Connection with Youth Worship Sunday mornings, occasional joint activities with other Presbyterian youth, quarterly sleepovers and retreats and a yearly mission trip. Wednesday programming includes:
 After School Club (ASC-current schedule) - ASC meets every Wednesday afternoon during the school year from 2:00 - 3:00 p.m.for children in 1st through 5th grades. In After School Club, mixed age groups of children participate in games, fieldtrips, crafts, music and Bible Study.
Middlers is a program for 6th graders that meets from 3:00 - 4:00 p.m. (4-4:45 PM in the spring) that serves as an extension of ASC and is led by our Educator. Service Club for youth in grade 7 and up meets from 5:00 - 6:00 p.m. The youth work together doing projects for the church, neighborhood, and the wider community. 
Sunday School begins at 9:45 and ends before the 11:00 worship. RPC provides quality Sunday School for all ages during the school year. Age groupings vary with families' needs. A Second Session Sunday School has been started to meet the needs of families coming to worship. An extension of Junior Church, 2 classes begin at noon: 4& 5 year olds in Room 4 and 1st through 6th grade on third floor working with Godly Play a storytelling curriculum. Confirmation classes offered as needed for youth in grades 7 and up and taught by the minister. Junior Church & Second Session Sunday School - During worship our children and youth have various activities. After the Childrenâs Sermon during morning worship, 3 year olds through 4th grade youth go to Junior Church. The 3 year olds through kindergartners participate in adult-supervised play, while our Christian Educator leads children in grades 1 through 4 in worship and fellowship. Junior Church leads directly into a learning opportunity for children: Godly Play for grades 1-6 and Sunday class for preschoolers every Sunday after worship. Children return to their parents at Bagel Fellowship. Youth Worship - Youth Worship meets no more than twice per month during worship and plans both the Christmas Pageant and the worship service for youth in June. Nursery - We have a staffed nursery for children up to 3 years old during worship (during Sunday School upon request) every Sunday. Youth Choirs - Children and youth sing as part of Junior Church and Youth Worship to perform for worship very occasionally and at the Christmas Pageant and Youth Sunday. Summer Youth Connection - Youth grades 7 and up meet on Sunday after worship and Thursday evenings for activities and field trips during June and July. Every year the youth (ages 14 and up) can attend a mission trip to either Cleveland with Inward Bound, Appalachian region with FAST and Stony Point, NY and NYC.
