Christian Education
Ministry for Children and Youth We have an active education ministry that includes Wednesday afternoon programs for children in grades 1 through 8 and Sunday programs for children, youth and adults. Our youth participate in the Youth Connection with Sunday night meetings, joint activities with other Presbyterian youth, quarterly sleepovers and retreats and a yearly mission trip. Wednesday programming includes:
 After School Club (ASC) - ASC meets every Wednesday afternoon during the school year from 2:00 - 3:00 p.m.for children in 1st through 5th grades. In After School Club, mixed age groups of children participate in games, fieldtrips, crafts, music and Bible Study.
Middlers is a program for 6th graders that meets from 3:00 - 4:00 p.m. that serves as an extension of ASC and is led by our Educator. Service Club for youth in grade 7 and up meets from 5:00 - 6:00 p.m. The youth work together doing projects for the church, neighborhood, and the wider community.
Sunday School begins at 9:45 and ends before the 11:00 worship. RPC provides quality Sunday School for all ages during the school year. Parents should pick up their children in Sunday School for up to grade 2. Parents of 3rd and 4th graders need to make arrangements in writing about releasing their child at the end of class. Junior Church - During worship our children and youth have various activities. After the Childrenâs Sermon during morning worship, 3 year olds through 4th grade youth go to Junior Church. The 3 year olds through kindergartners participate in adult-supervised play, while our Christian Educator leads children in grades 1 through 4 in worship and fellowship. Junior Deacons and Youth Worship - These are programs available for our youth in grades 5 and up. Junior Deacons learn to serve others by ushering during worship and helping with Junior Church, the nursery and other special service projects. Youth Worship meets no more than twice per month during worship and plans both the Christmas Pageant and the worship service for youth in June. Nursery - We have a staffed nursery for children up to 3 years old from 9:30 to noon every Sunday. Youth Choirs - These choirs practice to participate in morning worship. There is the Childrenâs Choir, for elementary aged youth, and the Youth Choir, which includes secondary school aged students. Each choir sings once a month during morning worship. Youth Connection - Youth grades 7 and up meet on Sunday evenings, plan outings with other youth Groups quarterly and participate in local and regional missions.
