Rev. Mary Pullen will preach on Old Testament lesson from Jeremiah 2: 4-13 and New Testament lesson from Luke 14: 7-14, "The Best Place at the Table".
Committee Meetings upcoming: Worship and Music- 9/9, Session Strategy Meeting-9/11, Custis Hall 10AM, Outreach- 9/12, Deacons- 9/14, Session- 9/21.
Rally Day September 12 marks return of worship to 11 AM and celebrates with a picnic after worship at Bladensburg Waterfront Park. Special family events include magician Dazzling Doug Jarman at 1pm and a boat ride at 2. RPC will provide lunch basics, please bring salads or desserts to share!
Please join us on Sunday, September 19th when we will make a special point to encourage our hard-working Pastor Nominating Committee in a couple of ways:
PNC Forum- 9:45-10:45 in Custis Hall to ask questions and interact with PNC committee members
(regular adult Sunday School classes begin 9/26)and Prayer Service (after 11AM worship and Bagel Fellowship)- 12:30 in support of PNC, music provided by Sarah Lee (musician who helped with VBS this summer).
Get Ready with Prayer Breakfasts at 7:00 AM at the Professional Coffee Shop in Hyattsville (2nd Mondays at 10 AM at IKEA). Wednesday Bible Study groups will resume on Wednesday, September 8th continuing to study the book of Revelation at 10:30 AM in Custis Hall and at 6:30 PM in the Parlor.
Safe Haven Coordinator needed: consider stepping up to lead worthy volunteers in this effort Jan 2-8th, 2011. Safe Haven organization meeting will be held at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Greenbelt on Saturday, Oct 16th, 9:30 AM.
