Children's Programming for summer at RPC:

We value children and youth at Riverdale Pres! We offer nursery and junior church programs all year long including summertime. Summer Youth Connection sponsors Thursday evening activities and Sunday field trips after worship for youth in grades 7 and up. Vacation Bible School runs June 22-26 from 9:30-noon and is followed by afternoon art and activities camps from noon-2:30PM. This years' Youth Mission Trip is to Cleveland, Ohio with Inward Bound- July 26-31. Happy Summer!

Announcements for the week of July 12, 2009

"Knowledge and understanding lead to coexistance!"

Rev. Mary Pullen returns back to the office from vacation on July 13. Until then, Rev. Dan Holland, ordained Presbyterian minister and Pastor of the United Parish of Bowie will cover in the event of emergencies. Call RPC church office or after hours call 301-249-6411. Rev. Ruth Kent will preach this Sunday at 10 AM.

Dr. C will be on vacation for the week of Sunday, July 19, then gone with the 2009 Mission Trip to Inward Bound, Cleveland, Ohio.  Alan Tanwi will be covering in Junior Church.  Lavelle Parker will be staffing the nursery for Laurie Chvatal who is abroad. Summer Youth Connection this week:  Kayaking at Bladensburg Waterfront Park ($5), leaving right after worship.

The 2009 Mission Trip to Inward Bound, Cleveland leaves on Sunday, July 26 after worship.  The group of youth from RPC and Berwyn Presbyterian will learn about homelessness and take on projects in the Cleveland area.  In addition, they will see a Cleveland Indian baseball game (arranged by Beth Rhodes) and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame!  The youth would benefit from prayer partners.  Please call the church office and we will pair youth with partners for the trip.

On Sunday, July 19, immediately after the mroning worship service, Bobbie Whittier from the Transitions Team of Committee on Ministry will present an information session about how the process of the Pastor Nominating Committee works as they seek a new pastor. This meeting is open to the congregation. Please plan to attend. You will have a chance to ask Ms. Whittier specific questions about the process as Riverdale begins to move forward in the search process.

Get Ready with Prayer Group will meet for breakfast and devotions at IKEA on Monday at 10 AM.  Please join us or alert us of any prayer requests.

The church office continues the summer office hours.  The church office will be open on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 8:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m (closed July 3).
